Cycling in West Bridgford

Notts County Council is consulting on its Active Travel Plan, and it’s underwhelming. But there is a plan for improvements on Regatta Way (click on green button near bottom of page: plans are at the very bottom of next page).

But with all the new housing we must have alternative ways of getting around, to stop the roads snarling up. Everyone who ever cycles knows the problems of bike routes dumping you at a big junction.

If elected to the County Council I want to focus on the ‘pinch points’ that cyclists experience when trying to get around the town. The bits and pieces of bike lanes we have around are almost pointless in encouraging new cyclist. We need to try to build up coherent routes to get us around West Bridgford and the City safely.
