As lock down is eased, it is lovely to be able to get out into the fresh air. The last couple of months must have been especially awful for those with no gardens. However over the weekend I have received numerous complaints about litter and the, um, ‘consequences’ of there being no public toilets or cafe toilets open at the moment (in West Bridgford Park!!!).
I was surprised to find out that Streetwise empty the bins on the canal 4 times a week, but they are really struggling to keep up extra demand on the street bins at the moment. (Thank you to those residents who regularly pick up litter that they find on the ground in a safe way.)
Please take your litter home with you. And if you have a drink, please plan for the fact that what goes in must come out…….. And finally, at a risk of hectoring, dont forget to maintain social distancing, even when you are a bit the worse for wear.
